Whats New in tuitbids.com.au

What are Gumby Auctions?

Gumby Auctions are beginner Highest Unique Bid Auctions. Only members who have not won an auction can place a bid on a Gumby Auction. If you win a Unique Auction (including a Gumby Auction) you will no longer be able to place bids on any more Gumby Auctions, however, any existing bids placed prior on other Gumby Auctions will remain active.

How are the number of bids placed now limited?

We have introduced another new option to the Unique Bid Auctions which allow us to limit the number of bids any one member can place on specific auctions. We will continue to run "Unlimited" bid auctions where members can place as many bids as they like on the auction, but we will also now offer Limited Bid auctions which will allow members ONLY to make a limited number of bids on the individual auction giving a much better chance of winning.

Tuits Per Bid (Admin Fee)

What does Tuits Per Bid mean (Admin Fee)?

On tuitbids.com.au the Tuits per Bid fee is an administration charge allowing us to provide our members with the ability to purchase these giftcards and vouchers at these reduced prices. Every time a member places a bid on any of the Unique Auctions the Tuits per Bid fee will be charged and the members account adjusted accordingly. All feed are paid in tuits. One Tuit equals one Australian dollar.

How many Tuits does it cost to place a Bid?

The number of Tuits per bid will vary depending on which auction you are bidding on. The higher the RRP value of giftcard or voucher, the higher the number of Tuits it will cost for you to place a bid.

Each additional bid made on the same auction will be discounted. This discount is cumulative and will be provided on the next 4 additional bids made on that auction. The Standard Consecutive bid discount is 5%, so therefore the initial Tuits per bid would be at full value, the 2nd bid would be 5% less than the 1st, the 3rd bid would be 5% less than the 2nd and so on until the bid reaches the 5th bid where the bid price will be fixed at this lower discounted value for any more bids placed.

Example for a $250 voucher
Tuits per Bid fee: 5.00
1st Bid Fee = 5.00 Tuits
2nd Bid Fee = 4.75 Tuits
3rd Bid Fee = 4.51 Tuits
4th Bid Fee = 4.29 Tuits
5th Bid Fee = 4.07 Tuits

Each additional bid @ 4.07 Tuits.

Return to top of page

Are the Tuits Per Bid refundable?

Tuits are only refunded if an auction is cancelled. If an auction is cancelled the Tuits will be deposited back into each member’s account.

When will I be charged Tuits?

You will be charged the Tuit per bid amount from your member’s account as soon as a bid is placed. There must be sufficient funds in your account to cover the Tuits per Bid amount, otherwise the bid will not be able to be placed. You do not need to have enough funds in your account to cover the actual amount bid, but you will need to ensure the fund are available if you do win the auction.

Why am I charged Tuits to place a bid?

The Tuits it costs you to place a bid covers our costs to run the auction and provide the vouchers or giftcards.

When will I be charged my Bid Amount?

You will only be charged your Bid Amount if you are the auction winner, ie. If you had the Highest Unique Bid. If you do not have sufficient Tuits to cover this amount, you will be sent an email to notify you that you have insufficient funds in your account. You will have ten days to deposit the required funds into your account.

What happens if I don’t pay a winning bid amount?

If you do not deposit funds into your member account within the required 10 days, Tuitbids will donate the voucher amount to a charity.

What is a Highest Unique Bid, a Unique Bid and Not Unique Bid?

bidding process

Looking at the above bid example, you will see that 3 people have bid 4 & 5 Tuits. The members who have bid 5 Tuits have placed the highest bids, but they are Not Unique. The member who placed the bid of 2 Tuits has a bid status of a Unique Bid because they are the only member who has bid that amount. The Highest Unique Bid is deemed to be the Winning Bid.

How is the winning bid determined?

The winning bid is determined by the bidder that submits the highest qualifying unique bid accepted by Tuit Bids.
